1 Dead In Valrico Shooting

VALRICO, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Valrico on Sunday.

According to the agency, the incident took place in the 4500 block of Cabbage Palm Drive sometime during the afternoon of Jan. 1. The person who was shot was taken to a local hospital, but later died, an email from the sheriff’s office said.

“Detectives are currently interviewing the shooter, who remained at the scene,” the email said.

No further information is being released at this time, including the name of the person who died.
