Brandon Armed Robbery Suspect Captured
A 20-year-old Brandon man faces charges in an armed robbery at a credit union's ATM.

BRANDON, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says its deputies have arrested a 20-year-old Brandon man in connection with an armed robbery at a Suncoast Credit Union ATM on Feb. 25.
According to the agency, Estevan Lerma was identified as the suspect in the case on Monday after the agency released surveillance camera footage. Lerma was subsequently brought into custody on an armed robbery charge and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.
The crime Lerma is accused of committing unfolded around 8:10 p.m. Feb. 25 at the 1370 Oakfield Drive credit union. A video of the crime shows a male victim standing at the ATM. A man, armed with a handgun, walked up behind the victim, pointed a gun and then put it to his back. Deputies say the victim took out cash, but then tried to struggle with his attacker. A shot was fired, but no injuries were reported.

The robber was able to get away on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, the sheriff's office said.
Lerma was booked into the jail early Tuesday morning. He was being held without bond, according to jail records.
