Brandon Man Left Crash Location, Drove Wrong Way On I-4: Sheriff

A Brandon man faces multiple charges from the Polk County Sheriff's Office for violently resisting arrest and leaving a crash location.

POLK COUNTY, FL — A Brandon man faces charges of leaving the scene of a car crash in Polk County and resisting arrest, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

Tuesday night, suspect Christian Cardona Feliciano, 41, was involved in a car crash, according to authorities. Officers said when he drove away from the crash location, a witness saw him driving eastbound on Interstate-4 westbound. He eventually parked his car near I-4. He got out of his car and began walking away. A deputy stopped him, police said.

A trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol showed up shortly after to take him to the Polk County Jail, officials said. The trooper struggled to get him in the patrol car as he tried to get away, investigators said. With the help of a deputy, they put him handcuffs.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the suspect faces charges of violently resisting arrest, causing a crash and fleeing from the scene.
