Brandon Temp Agency Sued After Worker's Penis is Cut Off

The Brandon agency placed Edgardo Toucet in a temporary job at a foam-cutting factory near Orlando, where the accident occurred.

A worker at Spartan Staffing is suing the Brandon temp agency, after his penis and testicles were severed by a foam cutting machine at an Orlando area factory where he was assigned to work, according to the Huffington Post.

Edgardo Toucet filed a lawsuit in Hillsborough County Court, arguing that the temp agency should have ensured he had formal training to operate the cutting machine. He also is contending that the agency placed him in a dangerous environment, the Post reports.

Toucet is being represented by Brandon attorney Michael Valen.

According to the Post:

Toucet, from Puerto Rico, received no formalized training and spoke no English prior to the accident. He had been given operation instructions in broken English and with hand signals, the suit goes on to allege. The suit also claims that Spartan knew of other workers who had similar accidents on the same machine.
