Brandon’s Limona Village Chapel Opens as Storm Shelter
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office opens its command post at 78th Street and Progress Boulevard, the area in which heavy storm damage has been reported.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has set up a command post in the area of 78th Street and Progress Village, where extensive storm damage has been reported.
Meanwhile, the American Red Cross has opened shelters to assist individuals affected by today’s extreme weather.
Transportation from the command post, at 78th Street and Progress Blvd., is available for transportation to the nearest shelter, at Limona Village Chapel in Brandon, 108 Limona Road.

Hartline buses will run from the command post to the shelter every hour until midnight, March 31.
Officials estimate that some 25 homes in the Progress Village area had suffered damages from the storm.

Red Cross shelters also are at St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Tampa, at 4120 North MacDill Ave., and in Largo, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, at 455 Missouri Ave.
Evacuees are asked to bring to the shelter their own bedding, pillows and blankets; toys and other items to keep children occupied; medications; personal hygiene items; and identification.
