Three Ruskin suspects face multiple charges after deputies accuse them of shooting at them, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

RUSKIN, FL — Three suspects are accused by deputies of shooting at them following an alleged robbery, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

According to investigators, after 8:30 p.m. on Wed., a victim showed up at a Ruskin home in the 500 block of Seventh Avenue NE to meet with the suspects, Isaiah Hernandez, 30, and Gerardo Rios, 20. (Patch will not release the third suspect's name because he is a minor.)

The minor and Hernandez are accused of robbing the victim with a gun. After the robbery, the victim was able to safely get away, detectives said.

Officers saw bullet holes in a nearby mailbox post. No one was injured from the shooting.

Hernandez left the home prior to the shooting, investigators said.

Deputies caught up with Hernandez on Thursday during a traffic stop. He faces charges of robbery with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and petit theft, deputies said.

The minor was arrested on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, robbery with a firearm and petit theft, the sheriff's office said.

Rios faces charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.

“The life of crime these individuals were living caught up to them last night when our deputies showed up at their door,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “I am thankful that none of our deputies were hurt after being shot at by these dangerous individuals who have now been taken off of our streets.”
