Watch: Brandon Armed Robbery Caught On Video
A shot was fired during a weekend armed robbery in Brandon. Authorities need help identifying the suspect.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying a man its deputies say held up a Brandon ATM customer at gunpoint over the weekend.

According to the agency, a man using the ATM at the Suncoast Credit Union, 1370 Oakfield Drive, was approached by an armed robber around 8:10 p.m. on Feb. 25. The robber showed off a silver .40 caliber handgun and demanded the customer’s cash, an email from the sheriff’s office said.
The victim did hand over money, but also tried to get control of the gun. A struggle ensued, and a shot was fired, the sheriff's office said. No injuries were reported. The robber managed to get away on foot.

The sheriff’s office has since released a video of the suspect. They are asking anyone with information about the man’s identity to call them at 813-247-8200. Tips may also be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling 800-873-TIPS.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male who stands between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall. He’s believed to be in his early to mid-20s and weighs an estimated 165 to 185 pounds. The man was last seen wearing a camouflage hoodie and dark pants.
