UPDATE: 2 Found Shot to Death in Clearwater Apartment

Updated, 6:41 p.m.:

According to detectives on the scene, the man and woman both died as a
result of gunshot wounds. There were no signs of forced entry in the apartment, authorities said.

Detectives are working on positively identifying both victims and notifying their family members, public safety spokesperson Elizabeth Watts said.

Clearwater Police are investigating the deaths of two people found inside an apartment Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to the Grande Bay Apartments, 2909 Gulf to Bay Blvd., around 1 p.m. Thursday for a welfare check. They found an adult man and woman dead inside, according to public safety spokesperson Elizabeth Watts.

Police were waiting for a search warrant to get inside, Watts said.

No further information was immediately available.
