Arrest Made in 2 Clearwater Walmart Robberies

A 23-year-old Clearwater man was charged in connection with two recent robberies at local Walmart stores.

CLEARWATER, FL — The Clearwater Police Department has announced the arrest of a 23-year-old man in connection with two recent robberies at Walmart stores in the city limits.

According to the agency, Amer Tayeh was connected to an Oct. 29 robbery at the 1803 N. Highland Ave. Walmart Neighborhood Market and a Nov. 6 robbery at the 23106 U.S. 19 Walmart Supercenter. His arrest was announced on Monday, Nov. 28.

“Tayeh came to light as a suspect thanks to the efforts of an alert Pinellas County sheriff’s deputy,” an email from police said. It seems he is also a suspect in several other recent robberies around the county, but police did not elaborate further.

Tayeh was being held in the Pinellas County Jail Monday afternoon.

No further information in the cases is being released at this time.
