City Offers Loans to Homeowners for Plumbing, Roof, Electrical Repairs

The Economic Development and Housing Department offers low interest and deferred payment loans of up to $25,000 to qualifying homeowners.

Clearwater homeowners could get help from the city with plumbing, roof or electrical system repairs.

The Economic Development and Housing Department offers low interest and deferred payment loans of up to $25,000 to qualifying homeowners.

Homes must be occupied by the owner and household income must be 80 percent or less than the area median income. A one-person household would have to make $31,850 or less. A four person household would have to bring in $45,450 or less. Other eligibility criteria may apply.

The loans are available for single-family detached homes, townhouses or villas with comparable sales values that are less than $150,000, according to the Pinellas County Property Appraiser.

Some work the loans can be used for include plumbing repairs; electrical repairs; roof repairs including soffit/fascia; replacement of doors and/or windows; and Americans with Disabilities Act modifications.
