Clearwater Man Accused Of Sexual Battery Of 17-Year-Old Boy
A 56-year-old Clearwater man was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with sexual battery of a 17-year-old boy
ST. PETERSBURG, FL - A 56-year-old Clearwater man was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with sexual battery of a 17-year-old boy. The man was identified as David A. West. He was also charged with possession of cocaine.
On Saturday, West called the boy, picked him up and drove the boy back to his residence. West told the boy to take off his clothes and forced him into having sexual activity with him, according to detectives.
After the incident, the boy called 911 and reported he was picked up and sexually battered by West, who was an acquaintance, detectives said. The boy told detectives he first met West a few months ago when he inquired about purchasing a used car from West who owns D&D Auto Center at 1711 Overbrook Ave., Clearwater.

Detectives said they were able to corroborate the victim's statements. Detectives arrested West about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the Sheriff's Office North District Station, 737 Louden Ave. in Dunedin. During the arrest, detectives found a baggie containing a white powdery substance in West's pocket. West admitted to detectives the substance was cocaine, according to the sheriff's office.
