Clearwater Man Faces Molestation Charge Involving 6-Year-Old

A 42-year-old Clearwater man faces a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation involving a 6-year-old victim, according to Clearwater Police.

Leonel Gutierrez confessed to committing the alleged sexual acts, after he was interviewed by detectives Friday and read his Miranda rights, according to Clearwater Police.

The incidents allegedly took place in April 2013, according to detectives. The victim made statements about the alleged incidents, which detectives investigated.

The investigation by Clearwater Police revealed that Gutierrez allegedly committed lewd and lascivious acts on the girl on more than one occasion, according to police.

Gutierrez was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
