Clearwater Man Killed in Monday Morning Crash Identified

CLEARWATER, FL — A 52-year-old Clearwater man is dead following a Monday morning crash on County Road 611.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Brent Touchton was traveling south on County Road 611, north of State Road 686 around 9:15 a.m. Sept. 19. For an unknown reason, Touchton's Volkswagen Passat left the southbound lanes, went over the median and entered the northbound lanes.

Touchton's Passat collided nearly head-on with a Ford SUV driven by Lindsay Connors, 31, of Tampa, a highway patrol report said.

Touchton was taken to Bayfront Health, but later died, the patrol said. Connors suffered minor injuries, but was not hospitalized.

No charges were filed.
