Clearwater McDonald’s Sets Coffee with a Cop Meetup
Clearwater area residents are invited to attend an upcoming coffee with a cop event.

CLEARWATER, FL — Residents who want a chance to get to know the men and women who patrol Clearwater's streets will get their chance this Saturday. The Missouri Avenue McDonald’s is playing host to the city’s next Coffee with a Cop event with members of the Clearwater Police Department lined up to attend.
“The mission of Coffee with a cop, which is especially important in today’s current climate, is to break down barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve,” McDonald’s explained in an email to media. “Taking time to meet at a neutral, safe location, like a McDonald’s restaurant, provides the opportunity for real conversations about the issues that matter to local restaurant.”
The Nov. 5 Coffee with a Cop takes place at the 539 S. Missouri Ave. McDonald’s from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Residents who attend can expect “no agendas or speeches, just a chance to ask questions, voice concerns, and to get to know local law enforcement in your neighborhood over a cup of coffee,” McDonald’s promised.
Coffee with a Cop events are staged periodically in Clearwater and other locations across the Tampa Bay area. The national initiative is supported by the U.S. Justice Department's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
