Clearwater Police SWAT Team Called to Help Suicidal Man
Clearwater Police SWAT were called to a home with an armed and possibly suicidal man with a history of mental issues in the Morningside subdivision Friday morning.

UPDATE: Jan. 5, 7:50 a.m.: Police are no longer looking for Hiram Daniels. A Clearwater Police spokesperson says detectives have been in contact with Daniels' attorney, who arranged for Daniels to be placed in a facility for observation. Charges are being referred to the State Attorney's Office.
UPDATE 2:09 p.m.: An armed, suicidal man was not inside the house when Clearwater Police SWAT members made entry Friday morning.
SWAT team members found a weapon but not Hiram Ray Daniels when they went inside a home on the 1400 block of Stewart Boulevard at 10:25 a.m.

Police are trying to find Daniels.
"It is believed the individual left the residence in a vehicle prior to police's arrival on scene," Joelle Castelli, police spokeswoman, said in a release. "It is unclear if he currently has another weapon with him."

Clearwater Police SWAT were called to a home with an armed and possibly suicidal man with a history of mental issues in the Morningside subdivision Friday morning.
Clearwater Police got a 911 hang up call at 6:41 a.m. from a home on the 1400 block of Stewart Boulevard.
When they got to the house, the mother of a distraught son was already outside, according to police. She called 911 because her son Hiram Ray Daniels, 30, was acting erratic.
Daniels has a history of mental issues, according to police.
"At this time we are considering him armed and suicidal," Joelle Castelli, police spokeswoman, said in a release.
Nearby homes were evacuated, police said.
