Clearwater Repairing Sewer Pipes Across City

The sewer pipe installation is taking place in residential and industrial areas in Clearwater.

CLEARWATER, FL – The City of Clearwater is warning its residents, businesses and visitors that sewer construction may affect traffic and noise levels in the city for the next month.

Hinterland Group, a contractor for the City of Clearwater, is in the process of installing and curing liners for the interior of several sewer pipes in Clearwater’s residential and industrial areas. These areas include:

  • Hercules Avenue (until about Monday, Nov. 6)
  • Countryside Boulevard and Winding Wood Drive (Tuesday, Nov. 7 through Wednesday, Nov. 15)
  • Hercules Avenue north of Palmetto Drive (Thursday, Nov. 16 through Tuesday, Nov. 28)
  • Edenville Avenue and Druid Road (Wednesday, Nov. 29 through Friday, Dec. 1)
  • Waverly Way and Franklin Street (Monday, Dec. 4 and Tuesday, Dec. 5)

Once construction begins in an area, the City of Clearwater said the work is expected to be quick and will last anywhere from 24 to 72 hours. Once it begins, the work can’t be stopped as it would interfere with the curing process.

Residents in construction areas can expect to hear noise associated with the project from pumps, a possible resin odor, vehicles and other associated construction equipment. A variety of utility and construction trucks will also be on affected streets.

According to the City of Clearwater, residents will be able to access nearby streets and their driveways. Intermittent lane closures may happen, allowing one-way traffic at a time with flagmen on site to help direct traffic. Schedules may change because of weather or conditions.
