Courtney Campbell Trail Off Limits Following Hermine

CLEARWATER, FL — Tampa Bay area residents who want to get out and stretch their legs now that sunshine has returned to the region will need to look for a place other than the Courtney Campbell Causeway Trail to do so.

The city of Clearwater reported Tuesday morning that the trail remained off limits to the public thanks to debris blown around when Hurricane Hermine passed by the area last week.

“Parks and Recreation crews are working today to get all the debris cleaned up so the trail can be reopened,” the city wrote in a Tuesday email to media. “Crews hope to have the trail back open no later than tomorrow afternoon.”

The trail was closed, the city said, because the debris may pose a risk to public safety.
