Dead Bat In Walmart-Sold Salad Prompts Florida Recall
Floridians who purchase pre-packaged salads may want to check their crispers for a particular brand. Fresh Express has issued a recall of certain brands of salad after two people were recommended for post-exposure rabies treatment after a dead bat was found in a bag of salad they bought in a Florida grocery store, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Heat, Humidity Return To Tampa Bay Area
It’s often said that all good things must come to an end. And, so it goes for the Tampa Bay area’s string of sunny days with low humidity and mild, springtime temperatures. According to the National Weather Service, the week ahead is likely to be a steamy one with temperatures in the mid-80s and humidity levels back in the 90-percent range.
Deadly Bar Fight Leads To 1 Arrest In St. Pete
A violent fight over a game of pool at St. Petersburg’s Stinger Bar on Sunday took a deadly turn when a third man entered the fray. According to authorities, a 62-year-old man died from injuries sustained in the fight while another man has been arrested on manslaughter charges.
Brush Fires Prompt Pasco Evacuations
As two brush fires burned in Pasco County on Monday afternoon, officials announced voluntary evacuations in some areas. Both fires were burning in the area of State Road 52 and Hays Road as of 6 p.m. April 10.
Man Airlifted After Rattlesnake Strikes
An encounter between a man and a 5 ½-foot rattlesnake took a dangerous turn on Sunday night. The man, struck by the snake in the hand, ended up having to be airlifted to a nearby hospital for antivenom treatments.
