Dog Rescued From Clearwater House Fire Caused By Unattended Cooking
Peso the dog was rescued from a house fire caused by unattended cooking in the kitchen, Clearwater Fire Rescue said.

CLEARWATER, FL — A dog was rescued from a smoke-filled house after a fire caused by unattended cooking broke out Friday afternoon, Clearwater Fire Rescue wrote in a social media post.
Fire crews who responded to the Byram Drive home treated the pup, named Peso, with oxygen at the scene.
He was rushed to an emergency veterinarian in a police cruiser for further treatment.

The fire started in the kitchen when the residents went outside to put up Christmas decorations, fire officials said.
Fire damage was contained mainly to the kitchen.

No people were injured in the fire and Peso is expected to recover.
