The operation is part of the sheriff’s office’s efforts to “reduce deaths, injuries and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving,” an email from the agency said. “The goal of the Wolfpack is to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.”

The sheriff’s office urges motorists to designate drivers or come up with alternative transportation plans. AAA is offering its Tow 2 Go program throughout the holiday weekend. To find out more, check out this story: Tow 2 Go Returns to Tampa Bay Area for Labor Day 2016.
