Dunedin Man, 34, Critical After Clearwater Crash
Clearwater Police say a 34-year-old bicyclist from Dunedin was struck by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday night.

CLEARWATER, FL — As the search for a hit-and-run driver continues, a 34-year-old man from Dunedin remains in critical condition following a Tuesday night crash in Clearwater. According to the Clearwater Police Department, Joseph Samson was heading southbound on Cleveland Street on a bicycle when he was hit.
Police say a pickup truck was heading eastbound on Cleveland around 9:43 p.m. May 30 as Samson was riding south between Betty Lane and Fredrica Avenue. The truck hit Samson before its driver took off from the scene.

Samson was taken to Bayfront Health with life-threatening injuries after the crash.
Police say the truck is believed to be a dark-colored pickup. It may have an extended cab and is believed to have possible front-end damage.

Police reported Wednesday morning that Samson remained in critical condition. Further information about the crash is not yet available.
