Fallen Clearwater Officers Remembered During National Police Week

National Police Week kicks off this week, with a remembrance virtually of fallen officers across the United States, including 762 in Florida.

The virtual national roll call includes four Clearwater police officers who died in the line of duty , according to the Officer Down Memorial Page. The website includes a comprehensive, state-by-state list of fallen officers in the line of duty.

The Clearwater officers are:

• Police Officer Ronald James Mahony, died June 13, 1977;
• Police Officer John Frederick Passer, July 12, 1970
• Police Officer Peter Mayo Price, Feb. 12, 1969
• Police Officer Harry Lorain Conyers Jr., Jan. 22, 1967.

Tonight the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund will hold a candlelight vigil in Washington, D.C., but people locally can watch it virtually.
