Long Center Pools Closing For Upgrades

Clearwater plans to close the pools at the Long Center over the summer and into the fall to make way for an estimated $879,000 in upgrades.

CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater residents with summertime plans that include dips in one of the Long Center’s pools will have to make a few adjustments. The city has announced that the center’s pools will close on June 12 so that $879,000 in upgrades can be made.

Khors Construction Company has estimated it will take about four months to complete the upgrades. Work includes resurfacing the pools, upgrading the deck and tiling around them, adding new lighting and performing mechanical/pump room upgrades.

“When work is complete, visitors can expect a brand new look,” the city wrote in an email to media.
