Man Accused of Hitting Store Clerk After Robbery Arrested
Clearwater Police say a man accused of robbing a store and hitting a clerk with a cash register drawer has been arrested.

CLEARWATER, FL — The Clearwater Police Department has announced an arrest in a Nov. 10 robbery that resulted in a hospital trip for a convenience store clerk.
According to the agency, Griffin Antoine Janick, 36, was brought into custody Tuesday morning following the Nov. 10 robbery. Janick now faces one count of strong-armed robbery and one count of aggravated battery.
The robbery that led to Janick’s arrest took place at the Speedway, 2577 Harn Blvd. Police say one of the store's clerks stepped in to try and stop the robber at the door. The robber, however, struck the clerk with a cash register drawer and took off, an email from the agency said.

The clerk, who has not been identified by police, was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
Janick was being booked into the Pinellas County Jail Nov. 15.

Police have not said how they connected Janick to the robbery. No further information is available at this time.
