Man Fatally Struck By Pickup Truck After Committing Theft: Sheriff

CLEARWATER, FL — A 37-year-old Oldsmar man was killed Friday after being struck by a pickup truck in front of 13900 49th St. N, Clearwater.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office detectives, at 9:52 a.m., Jesse Todd Chilson of Park Boulevard, Oldsmar, committed a theft and was running east into the southbound lanes of 49th Street North when he was struck by a 2018 blue Ford F-150 driven by 76-year-old Thomas Polski of Rosewood Drive in Palm Harbor, who was traveling south on 49th Street North.

Chilson was pronounced dead at the scene. Polski was uninjured.
