Man Turned Self In After Firing Shots At FL Police Station
A Lakeland man was arrested for shooting at a police station in Clearwater Beach, authorities said.
CLEARWATER, FL — A 25-year-old Lakeland man was arrested after firing multiple shots at a police substation on Clearwater Beach early Monday morning, authorities said.
The suspect shot at the station at 700 Bayway Blvd. from his car around 4 a.m., Clearwater police wrote in a Facebook post.
He then drove to a nearby location and called 911 and identified himself as the shooter, police said.

He was taken into custody and faces five different charges.

One of the bullets struck one of the police vehicles, which was unoccupied. The officer was upstairs inside the substation at the time, police said.
The Tampa Police Department bomb squad responded to the scene to clear his car.
