Police: Skycrest Elementary Teacher Hit, Kicked Students
Clearwater Police said Melanie Fox, 44, abused a 6-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy. Both are special needs students.
Melanie Jo Fox, a teacher at Skycrest Elementary School, has been charged with two counts of child abuse for allegedly abusing two special needs students at the school.
Clearwater Police said Fox, 44, abused a 6-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy.
According to police, allegations against Fox include, "kicking and pulling the girl's hair, hitting her with a book and binding the girl's hands with tape."

The police report said Fox also allegedly pushed the boy down and bound his hands together with a rubber band.
Fox, according to police, is an exceptional student education (ESE) teacher at the school.

Police said they believe the abuse started in January and continued through last week. The investigation continues.
