Potentially Deadly Honda, Acura Airbag Problem Has Florida Issuing Warning
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is urging affected Honda and Acura owners to get a free repair made.

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Tampa Bay area residents who drive Honda and Acura vehicles impacted by a recent recall related to faulty airbag inflators are being asked to take their cars in for free repairs. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles issued a call for action Thursday, along with Honda and Acura.
Takata airbag inflators in certain 2001-2003 model year Honda and Acura vehicles are not working property, the state said. The issue is potentially deadly, but the two automakers are offering free repairs.
“Urgent notices were sent from DHSMV and Honda/Acura to most affected owners last month and the notices should not be ignored,” the state wrote in a Thursday email to media. Auto owners affected by the recall can call 1-888-234-2138 for repair information. The U.S. Department of Transportation is recommended that affected vehicles only be driven to an authorized dealer for replacement of the Takata airbag inflators.
