CLEARWATER, FL — While many Tampa Bay area school kids are likely dreading the impending start of the 2017-18 school year, those first bells will ring soon. To help parents keep up with important dates for the new academic year, Patch took a county-by-county dive into the calendars.

Here’s a rundown of when the first day of school is set, along with a few other important dates to jot down on the calendar, for counties across the region:

Pinellas County

• First day of school – Aug. 10
• Labor Day holiday – Sept. 4
