Some Downtown Intersections Closed for Railroad Repairs

Railroad crossings at Lakeview Road, Woodlawn Street and Howard Street will be closed for about a week while CSX crews make repairs to the railroad there starting Wednesday.

Some streets downtown will be closed about a week as CSX crews make repairs to railroad crossings starting Wednesday.

East and west bound traffic at Lakeview Road, Woodlawn and Howard Street is closed through Tuesday, June 4, because of the work to replace railroad ties. 

When the work is complete, a city contractor will restore the area to its original state.

Detour signs will be posted. Drivers can use Belleair Road, Jeffords and Pinellas streets as other routes.

  • Lakeview Road, between South Fort Harrison and Myrtle avenues
  • Woodlawn Street, between Carmel and Scranton avenues
  • Howard Street, between South Fort Harrison and Scranton avenues
