CLEARWATER, FL — You don't have to be a tourist to enjoy Pinellas County's beaches.

Now, getting from Clearwater Beach to John's Pass Village in Madeira Beach is a cinch for tourists and residents alike thanks to a new Jolley Trolley route.

The Alligator & Wildlife Discovery Center in John's Pass Village, in conjunction with Jolley Trolley, now offers daily non-stop round-trip service from Clearwater Beach to John’s Pass Village. Starting at 10 a.m., the trolley runs every hour.

The new route was conceived by Sonny Flynn, managing partner of the Alligator & Wildlife Discovery Center, who said it was long overdue.

“John’s Pass has been a popular day trip for visitors to Clearwater Beach for years," she said. "We're glad we can now offer them a stress-free option for visiting without dealing with the headaches of figuring out transportation, finding parking or getting lost."

During the 30- to 40-minute trip, passengers can enjoy views of the Barrier Islands as they ride along 14 miles of the Gulf coast and travel through the various cities and townships that make up this popular tourist destination.

Once at John's Pass Village, guests will be able to enjoy this old-style fishing village which offers a scenic view of the John’s Pass Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico, all within steps of the white sands of Madeira Beach.

John’s Pass Village offers more than 100 individually owned shops, 14 restaurants, a winery, a craft brewery and even a chance to Kiss a Gator at the Alligator & Wildlife Discovery Center.

You can spend the day on the beach, shop 'til you drop, play pirate and walk the plank at Mad Beach Craft Brewing, and just relax in the sun.
