'Suspicious Package' Downtown A Dud
A poorly wrapped cardboard box found near Station Square Park on Cleveland Street contained a television antenna, not a bomb.
A poorly wrapped cardboard box found in downtown Clearwater contained a television antenna, not a bomb.
A 911 call came in about a suspicious package found at 612 Cleveland Street, outside of the Station Square Park and Station Square Condos, at 9:45 a.m., said Joelle Castelli, Clearwater Police spokeswoman.
Tampa Bomb squad arrived at 10:58 a.m. and inspected the package.
"The suspicious package has been "cleared," Castelli said.
Cleveland Street, which was closed and nearby businesses evacuated, was re-opened at around 11:45 a.m.
The cardboard box is addressed to a location in Indiana, and there is no return address.
