Suspicious Powder Triggers Investigation in Clearwater
Clearwater Police were called to a house after 'suspicious powder' arrived in the mail. Here's what emergency laboratory tests revealed.

Clearwater Police were called to a house on Covington Drive Sunday night, after a resident reported "suspicious white powder" inside mail that arrived at the residence.
Officers responded to the 2000 block of Covington Drive shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 9. So did Clearwater Fire and Rescue.
Hazardous materials crews collected the substance, and it was sent to Tampa for emergency overnight testing.

Lab results revealed that the powder consists of prescription medication, not any hazardous materials, according to police Monday, June 10.
