Volunteers Clean Up Clearwater

Volunteer groups helped keep Clearwater clean through several projects in October and November.

The city is always looking for new groups that are interested in helping with beautification projects. 

Businesses, neighborhood associations, troops, school groups, and service organizations with at least six members can become an Adopt a Park partner.

Groups are required to complete two service projects in their park or other city parks throughout the contract year. In exchange for their work, groups are recognized with a sign bearing their name in the adopted park.

Here is a list of the projects completed recently:

• MOMS Club of Clearwater: Volunteers spent time cleaning the Sunshine Limitless Playground, their adopted park, in October.
• St. Petersburg College Ethics Institute: 40 volunteers helped clean up old plants and debris behind City Hall Nov. 3.
• Edgewater Drive Neighborhood Association: The group started at Charles Park and cleaned their way to Edgewater Park picking up trash, debris and pulling air potato vines Nov. 10.
• Hilton Clearwater Beach: Volunteers beautified their adopted park by planting new plants in Pier 60 Park Nov. 14.
• The Ye Mystic Krewe of Santa Margarita: Pulled invasive Brazilian Pepper plants at Cooper’s Bayou, their adopted park, Nov. 17.
