What Should Replace This Clearwater Sweetbay?

Will you be sad to see this North Highland Avenue grocery store close? What do you think should take its place?

A Clearwater Sweetbay Supermarket, at 1861 N Highland Ave., is among 33 under performing stores in Florida scheduled to close in Feburary, the grocer's parent company announced Wednesday.

The story sparked a lot of discussion among readers in several area Patch towns, who speculated about what should replace their store. Many have chimed in saying they'd like to see a Whole Foods Market or Trader Joe's move in. Clearwater is slated to welcome a new Whole Foods at the Westfield Countryside Mall in a few years.

Others have shared their opinions about why Sweetbay wasn't performing well. Could the proximity of a Walmart Neighborhood Market on North Highland Avenue have something to do with the closure?
