Clearwater Fire Medic Accused Of DUI In A Golf Cart: Pinellas Sheriff

DUNEDIN, FL — A Cleawater fire medic is facing driving under the influence charges after being arrested by Pinellas County sheriff's deputies Saturday night while driving a golf cart.

According to the Pinellas sheriff's office, at 9:51 p.m., deputies with the Pinellas sheriff's DUI unit said they saw Todd Rushing, 31, operating an unregistered golf cart on Skinner Boulevard in Dunedin. Deputies said, when they stopped Rushing, he showed signed of impairment including bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol.

Rushing agreed to perform field sobriety tests but performed poorly, deputies said.

He was arrested and charged with one count of DUI.
