Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:

  1. Pinellas County's free Fancy Women Bike Ride event will kick off this Saturday, Sept. 16, at 6:30 p.m. Participants will meet at Dunedin’s Harbourside Grill for a 5-kilometer bike ride dressed in their fanciest attire. The worldwide event will take place across 200 cities in an effort to elevate women from various backgrounds as they reclaim and carve out safer bike routes. A similar event is scheduled for Sept. 17 at 10 a.m., leaving from Perry Harvey Sr. Park in Tampa. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
  2. Drone footage taken along the Dunedin Causeway shows that sea life has returned to local waters after Hurricane Idalia. John Yanchoris, a local man who often captures videos of sharks and stingrays with his drone, told WFLA, “When a hurricane comes, sharks and other sea life can sense a drop in barometric pressure, and they go to deeper waters.” Wednesday was the first day since the storm he noticed that the sea life had returned! (WFLA)
  3. The Hale Senior Activity Center is offering a day trip to the Museum of American Arts & Crafts Movement in St. Pete on Oct. 25 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Guests will enjoy various works of art and architecture within the five-story building. The price is $40 per person, which includes entry, a guided tour, and bus transportation. Those interested must register by Sept. 22. (City of Dunedin via Facebook)
