Looking for a great place to put up guests in Dunedin?

We all know Dunedin is a great place to visit. And we love it when our friends and family come to town. We just don’t always want them to actually stay in our homes. But how do we get that across without sounding, you know, a little rude…?

Here’s an idea: strongly suggest they stay at the Mai Tai Suites. Owners John and Karen Bickford offer fully furnished 850 square foot 2-bed, 1-bath suites for less than the price of a hotel.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:

  1. Congratulations to Kristina Garcia, the new executive director at the Dunedin Cares Community Food Pantry. Prior to this, Garcia served on the nonprofit’s board and volunteered for six years. According to the new executive director, the pantry has seen a significant increase in clients who have jobs but can’t afford the high supermarket food prices, forcing the pantry to work harder to keep up its supply. (Tampa Bay Newspapers)
  2. The Florida Department of Health has issued a swim advisory for Pinellas County beaches due to high bacteria levels. The advisory was applied to Clearwater Beach, Mandalay Park, and Sand Key after samples showed levels of enterococci bacteria above the threshold. Enterococci bacteria can cause a rash, infection, or disease. They will continue to test samples until bacteria levels are back to normal. (WUSF Public Media)
  3. The Dunedin Chamber of Commerce is looking for a new president after Pam Pravetz recently resigned. Until the position is filled, the chamber's executive committee will run day-to-day operations. A description of the position and compensation package is currently in the works and will be made public soon! (Tampa Bay Newspapers)
