Now Open: Dunedin Chefs Take Over Breakfast, Brunch at Beso Del Sol

Chefs John Lewis and Debbie Mcgriffin took over breakfast and Sunday brunch services at Beso Del Sol and the Marker 8 Tiki Bar on Friday.

Breakfast and brunch are now served.

Dunedin chefs Debbie Mcgriffin and John Lewis opened for breakfast and brunch services at Beso Del Sol Resort and food at Marker 8 Tiki Bar.

The culinary duo also said that their new space in the venue room at Beso Del Sol allows them to offer catering for private events, such as wedding receptions, parties or special occassions for up to 100 people.

John Lewis reported that they'd be brining back some signature dishes from their former downtown restaurant La Maison Gourmet (once at 471 Main Street, where The Dunedin Smokehouse now serves), as well as introducing some new ones.

Breakfast services are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday brunch is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

What's on the menu?

Chef John said this in a recent email:

Some of our signature dishes include: Bananas Foster French Toast; Giant House Made Biscuits; Belgian-style Waffles with Fresh Fruit Compote and Whipped cream; and Eggs anyway you want them including Eggs Benedict and Omelets with lots of options. Sundays we offer Crab Cakes Oscar and Shrimp and Grits plus other specials.

A recipe handed down from my German heritage Grandmother is also on the menu – Goetta! I’ll let the servers try to explain it but it is delicious. My favorite breakfast sandwich is available – Apple Wood Smoked Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Sunnyside-up Eggs and Chipotle Mayo on a lightly grilled Croissant.
