  1. You can now see a 1930s painting titled "Spring Has Come" by George Henry on display in the City Hall lobby. On loan from The Smith Stirling Museum in Stirling, Scotland, as part of Dunedin's Sister Cities relationship, you may have seen it at the DFAC while the City Hall was still under construction. When it was created, the painting was considered fairly radical as it went against the "conventional technical style of art" that was more common. Those interested can see it in the lobby over the next year or two. (City of Dunedin via Facebook)
  2. The Dunedin Public Library is hosting a meeting for those interested in volunteering for The Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office on Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. Guardian ad Litem represents abused, abandoned, and neglected children in the courtroom by providing legal representation. They also represent these children in the community by helping them voice their needs and wishes. Anyone interested in learning more about the team and volunteering is encouraged to attend. (Dunedin Public Library)
  3. Get your tickets for Summer Afternoon Tea at the Fenway Hotel on Aug. 13 between 2 and 4 p.m. Guests will enjoy the finest Dammann Frères teas, scones, sandwiches, and dessert on the hotel's historic property. Tickets are limited and cost $40 per person. (Fenway Hotel)

  • The City of Dunedin reminds residents to share the beaches with shorebirds during nesting season. This is especially important as they've had a decrease in population over the last few years. You can help by not letting your kids chase or feed the birds, staying away from posted nesting signs, and keeping our beaches clean. Learn more here. (City of Dunedin via Facebook)
