FL Shopper Stole Live Tarpon From Bass Pro Shops Fish Pond: Watch

FORT MYERS, FL — Detectives are looking for a shopper who used a fish net from the store to steal a live tarpon from the indoor fish pond at the Bass Pro Shops in Fort Myers Wednesday evening, according to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

The agency, writing that it was “not your normal retail theft,” shared a video from the incident, which showed the young male suspect walking through the store with the fish. (Watch the video below.)

The caption of the video read, “This kid just got it outta the small pond.”

The suspect ran from the store with the fish.

LCSO detectives are working with the agency’s Animal Cruelty Task Force and the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission to find those involved.
