FL Strip Club Destroyed By Hurricane Ian Reopens In Tent: Report

A strip club destroyed by Hurricane Ian's hit to Southwest Florida reopened under a temporary tent on Fort Myers Beach, reports said.

FORT MYERS BEACH, FL — A strip club destroyed by Hurricane Ian reopened under a temporary tent on Fort Myers Beach, according to multiple reports.

Vixens Fort Myers Beach reopened in a tent where Fantasy’s at the Beach once stood.

The name change was in the works before Ian hit, as new owners purchased the business just two months before the storm.

“Just two months later, we had 10 feet of water wipe away the building,” John Gallagher, the company’s president, told WINK News.

The company removed debris from the site at 19240 San Carlos Blvd. after Ian’s battering and set up a large white tent on the existing concrete slab, reports said.

The strip club has temporary permits to operate through March 24. Depending on how business goes, Vixens could request an extension of its permit, Gallagher told the News-Press.com.

He considers the business’ comeback a reason for the community to celebrate.

“The tent operation, recently set up, is intended to serve as an informal neighborhood celebration of rebuilding,” Gallagher said. “We want the community that has taken a bad hit to have just a little fun, and hope to remind everyone that we all will build the beach back better. And that Vixens will do its part to lead the way."

The strip club has plans to spend $1.1 million to construct a permanent building on the site, reports said.
