New Dashcam Video Shows Fatal Fiery Plane Crash On I-75 In Naples

The plane reportedly tried to make an emergency landing but lost both of its engines on its way to a Naples runway.

NAPLES, FL — New dash cam video shows the moment a small airplane trying to make an emergency landing was involved in a fiery crash on Interstate 75 last week in Naples, killing two people.

The Florida Highway Patrol previously said the crash happened Friday on I-75 south near mile marker 106, about a mile away from Pine Ridge Road and Golden Gate Parkway in Collier County.

The 1-minute long dash cam footage was posted Monday by Facebook user Alfonso Del Nodal. It shows the plane crashing ahead of multiple cars on the interstate before a billow of smoke filled the air.

The outlet reported the plane was coming from an Ohio airport and was set to land in Naples.

“It’s seconds that separated us from the car in front of us,” witness Brianna Walker told The Associated Press. “The wing pulverized this one car.”

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash. The NTSB's crash report was not immediately available Tuesday.
