Fort Myers city workers push for pay raises amid regional wage gap (fox4now.com) — Fort Myers city employees are pressing for higher wages, arguing their current pay lags behind nearby cities like Cape Coral and Lee County and fuels high turnover in critical services such as water, wastewater, and solid waste. Union leaders say a stalled contract and altered pay study data have delayed raises they expected in October, and they’re urging residents to contact council members in support of better compensation.

Several luxury Fort Myers properties also closed, some below list price, highlighting active but price-sensitive demand across the county’s priciest neighborhoods.

RELIEF: Trash-filled NFM nightmare home cleaned up after years of problems (fox4now.com) — Neighbors in North Fort Myers’ Suncoast Estates are finally seeing relief after Lee County crews cleared a long-problematic, trash-filled property through nuisance abatement. Years of rats, sewage issues, burning garbage, and safety concerns had frustrated nearby residents, who now hope the new owner will maintain the home and inspire broader cleanup across the community.
