Tamarac Man Leads Troopers On 120 MPH Chase With Toy Guns: FHP

Multiple toy guns were found inside of the vehicle belonging to the man, who was accused of pointing a gun at another driver.

COLLIER COUNTY, FL — A 27-year-old Tamarac man accused Wednesday of leading state troopers on a 120 mph chase on Interstate 75 is now facing charges, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers were responding around 7:45 a.m. to a be-on-the-lookout alert for a SUV heading south on I-75 near the 124-mile marker, authorities said.

Adler Telfort was identified as the driver of the SUV and was accused of pointing a gun at another driver, authorities said.

Troopers found the SUV near mile marker 115 on I-75 in Collier County and tried to initiate a traffic stop, authorities said. Telfort was then accused of fleeing and leading police on a 120 mph chase.

After a PIT maneuver was performed, Telfort was arrested, authorities said. While no real guns were found inside of the SUV, several toy guns were found in the vehicle, authorities said.

Telfort was charged on suspicion of reckless driving, aggravated fleeing and eluding, possession of marijuana, violation of probation and driving with a suspended license, authorities said.
