• Postcards promising ‘immediate repairs' flagged as scam, St. Lucie County says (wqcs.org) — Fort Pierce residents are being warned about scam postcards falsely promising “immediate repairs” for hurricane, storm, or fire damage at no out-of-pocket cost. St. Lucie County officials say no such program exists and urge people not to share personal or financial information, instead calling Emergency Management to verify any suspicious mailings or calls.

• Man, 67, dead after apparent traffic incident on U.S. 1, police said (tcpalm.com) — A 67-year-old man died Wednesday morning after a traffic incident involving a flatbed semi-truck near Southeast Veterans Memorial Parkway and U.S. 1, then was taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, where he was pronounced dead. Port St. Lucie Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has video to contact investigators as they work to piece together what happened.
