Whoops! Car Crashes Into Medical Lab
An elderly driver accidentally crashed into a medical lab in South Pasadena on Wednesday morning, officials say.
Phlebotomist Dalt Cornelison was the only employee in the building Wednesday morning when an elderly woman crashed her Toyota Yaris through the front window of the International Medical Laboratory in South Pasadena.
Cornelison says he had his back to the window when, at about 9:30, he heard the "kaboom." He turned around and found himself just three feet from the hood of the car.
He was shaken up but says he's OK. Cornelison called 911 and helped the woman to safety. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, no injuries were reported. The woman was treated by emergency personel on scene but did not have to be transported to a hospital, officials say.

The lab director says the woman was a patient coming in for an appointment Wednesday morning. Timothy Healy, operations director, says he's just happy everyone is OK.
"It's not as bad as it looks," Healy said.

Healy says the lab at 1446 Pasadena Ave. S. lost its front window and had drywall damage. He says there was no structural damage. According to officials, the building sustained less than $5,000 worth of damage.
Healy says the lab will remain closed Wednesday, but should reopen Thursday.
