Gulfport Cleans Up After TS Andrea
The cleanup continues after Tropical Storm Andrea.
Residents, contractors and city staff were out cleaning out after the season's first Tropical Storm. Everything from heavy equipment to leaf blowers could be heard around town as people cleared yards, alleys and streets of debris.
Public Works Director Don Sopak says staff focused on clearing streets on Friday and piled much of the debris at Clymer Park for pick up next week.
Sopak is reminding residents to call and schedule for a special pick up if you have a large amount of debris from the storm. There is a fee for special pick ups. If you're having a contractor come out to cut trees, they will move the trash for you, he says.
