Dog Lost in Gulfport: Can You Help?

Update: Keep an eye out for this beloved little girl named Ireland. Reward is offered.

This "lost dog" notice was posted on the Gulfport Patch Facebook page Sunday. Can you help?

"LOST DOG: Please share: Missing, long haired black chihuahua. Ran from dog sitter in Gulfport. Reward, contact Jackie 432-7519."

Just keep an eye out for this long-haired chihuaua that was last seen May 16th on 30th Avenue South.

Her owner has responded to our query. Here is more information:

The little dog, named Ireland, was just visiting in Gulfport, and her distraught owner is from St. Petersburg. Judging from the photo, the chihuahua is an older pet, too. She is described as "very shy," so she may be more inclined to hide than run up to strangers. She weighed just 8 lbs.!

Here is what her owner posted on the Gulfport Patch Facebook Page Sunday, in response to our query for more information:

"Her name is Ireland and she ran away from the dog sitter on 30th ave south. We live in downtown St Pete, so she may be heading that way. She ran on 5/16 @ 4:30. I am completely heartbroken and really want her back !!"
