Police: Men Cashed Stolen Checks, Pawned Stolen Tools
Gulfport Police Chief Robert Vincent says two men were arrested on multiple charges including: breaking into a vehicle, stealing checks and cashing them. The two also took tools and pawned them, according to police.
Gulfport Police say George Englund and Kyle Bult were arrested on multiple charges after they cashed stolen checks and worked together to pawn stolen tools.
According to Gulfport Police Chief Robert Vincent, George V. Englund, 40, a transient of St. Petersburg, broke into a vehicle in the 5600 block of 16th Avenue South on March 8. Police say he stole tools and a checkbook, "among other things." Then, Englund forged the checks, and he and Kyle Bult, 63, of St. Petersburg, cashed the checks at several locations, police say.
Because Englund did not have a valid I.D., police say Bult pawned the stolen tools.
